I'm trying to get a distint "wah" sound with a saw wave. Something with a sharp, bright attack that drops off quickly, but not suddenly....actually, naybe it's more of an "ow" sound (I don't know how else to explain it ) I'm still experimenting with the TVA & TVF functions, but am having a hard time getting what I want. Any suggestions on settings for the TVA & TVF?

Guess I should mention that I have an XP 60.

If you want a wah wah effect use a LFO to modulate the Filter. If you want some vibrato use an LFO on the oscilator. I've never programmed with a roland synth, so I'm not sure how its set up. I own a trinity so I cant tell you step by step how to do it.

I'm also a wah wah fan, please tell me how to program a good wah wah sound with LFO( i guess the principle would be the same no matter it's Trinty, XP or XV... isn't it?)
THANKX!!!

Im a Wah JUNKY. You should hear the insane wah samples I have created on the Triton.

I've got everything from Jaba Wah(Large, jaba-the hut sounding wah) to Pink Floyd MONEY wahs, to disco wahs. A, the beautiful wah.

Here's something for you. I downloaded the acid set from http://www.xpjv.dircon.co.uk

I have to say I never looked back after loading this into my XP60 (no cards). It's wonderful for all of those wah sounds.

As I said your XP60 needs no extra cards. The bank just get's loaded into the USER GROUP overwriting all that is there so backup your sounds 1st if you've created any.

It's definatley worth a try to experiment with this sound bank. If you don't like it you can just wipe it.

Have fun!!!!

If it's a single event wah that you're looking for (as opposed to a repeating event), use the TVF envelope. Just adjust the times and levels so that the graph looks like a downward slope, then tweek it as you see fit.
